Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.
